City of Los Angeles: Rent Increase Effective July 1st, 2025

For the period from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the City of Los Angeles has set the allowable annual rent increase for properties subject to the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) at 3%. If the landlord provides gas and electric services to the tenant, an additional 1% can be added, bringing the total allowable increase to 4%.

Landlords are required to provide tenants with a written 30-day notice for rent increases of 10% or less. For increases exceeding 10%, a 90-day notice is mandatory.

To determine if your unit is subject to the RSO, you can use the City’s ZIMAS tool at zimas.lacity.org.
