For transactions closing on or after July 1, 2025, the updated ULA thresholds will be $5,300,000 and $10,600,000.
· Transactions above $5,300,000 but under $10,600,000 will be assessed a 4% tax
· Transactions $10,600,000 and up will be assessed a 5.5% tax
· These are in addition to the existing Los Angeles City and County transfer tax.
(Previous Thresholds were $5,150,000 and $10,300,000)
If you're selling a property close to the $5M or $10M mark, timing matters. You might want to consider closing after June 30, 2025 to avoid ULA taxes, if the new thresholds apply to your sale price. If you have any questions related to Measure ULA, feel free to reach out.
